Spring 2014. This was a very elaborate still life setup for relatively inexperienced artists, so we needed a lot of time to work.

A relatively small drawing. We were tasked to create hybrid animals, so I combined two of my favorite things. I'm very pleased with how it came out.

From the first drawing class I took, back in the spring of 2014. Based on a picture rather than an actual key, although I would later come to possess a physical key that looks like this one.

An original character painted digitally for a class. She is one of my favorites, and has an elaborate character arc ahead of her. I enjoyed using a heavily-outlined, colorful style here, rather than aiming for perfect realism. The magic effects were also a fun touch.

One of my first finished digital paintings. I enjoy using a style with exaggerated colors, which brings out the depth and texture of the subject, although it's not fully realistic.

A quick illustration of an important object from a group project for a writing class. It's a portal that connects this region to others, in an area themed around ancient Mesopotamia.

This was one of my first digital paintings. These lemons may not be perfect, but they have a very unique, rough look to them.

An original character painted digitally for a class. She lives in a floating underground city, and acts as a sort of monk and historian. One day, she would like to see the surface world. I will admit, I'm less satisfied with the character herself in this piece, but it was a chance to try something a little odd for the background, and I'm somewhat attached to it.

Clare is the default name for the player character. All of the characters are dead, but only this one has an angel-like theme in their design.

Flynt is a shy, thoughtful plant person who tends to spend time alone by the lake.

Iblis is a demon with a desire to see what living human society is like. He is outwardly nice, but may betray you in certain circumstances.

Callie is a playful ghost with, perhaps, a somewhat immature idea of the afterlife.

Ariel is a tough, jaded gal who became part cat in the afterlife. It takes some work to earn her trust.

Includes a lot of the same elements as the other UI assets, but in a "giant 3D pixel" style.

All of the water is actually animated in the game.

The river is animated in the game, as is the blue patch in the top left. It's actually grass, not water - a few things in the town of the dead have odd colors to give the feeling that something is "off." The edges of the image only extend so far in case the player gets close to the edge (as the camera in-game is more zoomed-in), but only the area inside the fences can actually be walked in.

The map is on a couple different layers, so the player can walk under the awnings. The grass (not water) in the middle is also animated. Again, only the areas within the fences can be explored. This is a popular hangout for most of the characters.

A game made for a 24 Hour Game Jam in 2014. The top two rows are the main character, Mist. I'm proud of the way her hair flows when moving.

The main character from Firewall, Cinder, plus a wizard whose sprite didn't make it into the game. This is some of my earlier sprite work, made shortly after I entered college.

A lecture hall where Professor Eros teaches. By coincidence, the characters look like they're standing on the desks when they appear in this room.
